Visual Testing. Inside a vessel or on a tank floor, VT is the first line of defence. The course covers direct and remote visual technique, confined-space lighting, measuring corrosion and pitting, weld discontinuity identification, and how to support an API-certified inspector with clear records.

Eddy Current Testing. Exchanger bundles pulled at turnaround are a major ET workload. The ET course covers impedance-plane analysis, frequency selection, standards and calibration, and the basics of tube inspection data. Remote-field and other specialised tube techniques are introduced as context.

Regulation that shapes the work. Refineries and chemical plants fall under OSHA's Process Safety Management standard (29 CFR 1910.119), whose mechanical-integrity element is the reason inspection and testing programmes exist and why owners scrutinise technician qualifications. Texas environmental permitting is handled by TCEQ, and pipelines leaving the plants fall under PHMSA or the Railroad Commission of Texas.

Industrial radiography in Texas. Texas is an NRC Agreement State, so the Texas Department of State Health Services radiation control programme licenses radioactive material and registers X-ray equipment used for industrial radiography. The state's industrial radiography rules (25 TAC §289.255) cover radiographer and trainee requirements and radiation safety officer duties. Plant radiography is often done at night or during restricted-access windows because of exposure boundaries. An SNT-TC-1A RT certificate proves your interpretation and technique competence; it does not replace the state requirements.
