PCN (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing)

PCN is the UK third-party NDT personnel certification scheme operated by the British Institute of NDT (BINDT) under ISO 9712, providing internationally-recognized Level I, II, and III certificates valid for 5 years.

PCN certificates are recognized in oil & gas, aerospace, and structural industries worldwide. They are particularly prevalent in North Sea operations, where PCN certification is often a contractual requirement.

How it is applied

Assuming automatic recognition across schemes. PCN, CSWIP and other ISO 9712 bodies are mutually comparable but not automatically interchangeable, and acceptance is set by the specification.
