API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Code
API 510 is the inspection, repair, alteration, and rerating code for in-service pressure vessels in refineries and chemical plants, requiring periodic external and internal inspection by certified API 510 inspectors.
Definition
API 510 defines inspection intervals based on remaining life (no more than half of remaining life or 10 years for external, 10 years or half remaining life for internal), and uses RBI per API 580 to optimize intervals. Inspectors must hold valid API 510 certification.
