Fluorescent Particles
Fluorescent particles are magnetic particles coated with a fluorescent pigment that emits visible light under UV-A (black light) illumination, providing higher sensitivity than visible particles by yielding bright indications against a dark background.
Definition
Fluorescent MT inspection requires UV-A intensity of at least 1000 μW/cm² at the inspection surface and a low ambient light level (typically less than 20 lux). Sensitivity exceeds visible-method MT by an order of magnitude.
