Recertification

Recertification is the periodic re-examination of NDT personnel required by certification standards (typically every 5 years for Level II under ISO 9712, or per written practice for SNT-TC-1A) to maintain valid qualification.

Definition

ISO 9712 requires recertification every 5 years through documented evidence of continuous activity plus either a recertification or renewal examination. SNT-TC-1A defers to employer written practice — typically 3 years for Level I/II and 5 years for Level III.
