6. Certification by the employer. The employer signs, supported by the Level III's records.
7. Recertification. At the written-practice interval, by evidence of continued satisfactory work or re-examination.

When you change employers, certification does not move with you automatically. The new employer must certify you under its own written practice, using your existing records as evidence. Unlike many states, Iowa issues its own credentials for industrial radiography personnel, with separate categories for radiographer trainees, radiographers and radiographer trainers. Each requires agency-accepted training that includes on-the-job training, and the state's rules call for both a state examination and a third-party examination.
