What weld inspection involves
Weld inspection verifies that a joint meets the acceptance criteria of the governing construction code, using methods selected for the defect types credible in that joint configuration and material.

An ASNT NDT Level III reviews and signs the final disposition. That bundle is what a client or accreditation audit examines, and it is recorded as the work happens rather than assembled afterwards.
