ASNT Level III Training (Level 3) in Tampa

Radiation safety is a separate qualification. A Level III certificate in radiography does not make the holder a radiation safety officer. The Florida Department of Health's guide to industrial radiography licensing requires the RSO to have at least one year of documented experience as a radiographer and 16 hours of formal instruction in running a radiation safety program. It also requires radiographers to be trained, tested and certified, with their job performance audited at least every six months. An employer building radiography capability in Florida has to fill both roles. The Level III owns the technique and the written practice, and the RSO owns the license conditions.
