Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Services in Vietnam 2026 — ASNT Level III Led
Atlantis NDT delivers professional Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) inspection services in Vietnam from ASNT NDT Level II + III certified inspectors. Specialising in surface-breaking defect detection in welds, castings and machined parts. PT demand around Vietnam comes mainly from offshore, refining & gas processing. Technicians are qualified to the governing SNT-TC-1A written practice, and procedures and reports are reviewed by an ASNT NDT Level III (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT).
Liquid Penetrant Testing Method Overview
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is a core NDT method covered in detail at our PT pillar hub. Per ASME Section V, ASTM E-series, ISO 17635 + applicable method-specific standard. Atlantis NDT Level III approves every Procedure + signs off final disposition. Calibration block + reference standard traceable to NIST / NPL / PTB. Procedure pack + technique sheet + qualification block included.

Why Vietnam generates PT demand
Vietnam's Dung Quat and Nghi Son refineries, the offshore fields off Vung Tau, fast-growing fabrication yards taking regional work, and a coal-to-gas power transition give it one of Southeast Asia's fastest-expanding inspection markets.
Penetrant testing carries the refinery's non-magnetic work: austenitic overlay and cladding checks, stainless and alloy piping welds, and threaded or machined components where MT cannot be applied — with high-sensitivity penetrants on hydrogen-service equipment.
Offshore, PT handles what MT cannot: duplex and super-duplex welds, clad connections and non-magnetic fittings, examined between weather windows with solvent-removable technique where washdown is impractical.
Fab-shop PT clears the stainless and alloy production MT cannot touch — pressure-part welds, food-and-pharma finishes and machined components — usually visible dye at the bench and fluorescent where the class demands it.
Power-plant PT covers turbine blading, stainless welds in feedwater and steam chemistry systems, and repair excavation checks during outages — fluorescent technique in the shops, visible dye at the machine.
What typically gets examined
In practice that means PT work across refinery process units, offshore platforms and FSOs, fabricated jackets and modules for export, and new-build power plant — with scope set by the damage mechanisms each asset actually runs, not by a standard menu.
Certification and acceptance in Vietnam
PetroVietnam group specifications lead oil and gas work with international codes applied directly; ASNT certification is the accepted currency, and yards building for export work routinely host client and class surveillance on top of local requirements.
Examinations themselves are performed to ASME Section V Article 6, ASTM E165 and E1417, and the ISO 3452 series, with acceptance from the referencing construction code. The evidence chain — technician certification current on the day, instrument and reference block calibration, and the procedure revision in force — travels with every report, because that bundle is what an audit actually checks.
Working with Atlantis in Vietnam
Atlantis delivers penetrant testing through inspection teams mobilised to site, working under Atlantis procedures with ASNT Level III oversight — we are straightforward that this is a mobilised model rather than a walk-in local office, because for planned inspection work that is usually the better arrangement anyway: the crew, procedures and equipment arrive matched to your scope. Read the PT service overview, see how results are recorded and retrieved, or tell us about the Vietnam scope and we will respond with an honest view on mobilisation.
Work in Vietnam is delivered under the same procedures and Level III oversight described on our national penetrant testing page, which covers visible and fluorescent penetrant examination on stainless, nickel alloy, aluminium and other non-magnetic material.
