Inspection
Technical staffing services (TSS)
When a project or turnaround needs certified inspectors on site, the certificate on the CV has to match the scope on the contract. Atlantis supplies inspection and NDT personnel matched to the certification the work requires, checks those certifications before they are proposed, and supports them with Level III oversight while they are on the job.
Personnel we supply
| Discipline | Certifications held by the personnel we propose |
|---|---|
| In-service inspection | API 510 (pressure vessels), API 570 (piping), API 653 (storage tanks); API 571, 577 and 580 supplementary certifications where the scope needs them |
| Welding inspection | CSWIP 3.1 and 3.2 welding inspectors; AWS CWI and SCWI |
| Coating and painting inspection | AMPP (formerly NACE) coating inspectors (CIP levels); BGAS-CSWIP painting inspectors |
| NDT technicians | employer-certified to ASNT SNT-TC-1A, ASNT central (ASNT 9712) and ISO 9712 (PCN and equivalent) Level II and Level III in UT, PAUT, TOFD, RT, MT, PT, VT and ET |
| Specialist roles | QA/QC inspectors, inspection coordinators, data and report reviewers, IRATA rope-access NDT technicians |
How certifications are checked
- Certificates are verified against the issuing body’s public register where one exists, and the expiry date checked against the assignment dates.
- NDT technicians’ certifications are checked against the employer’s written practice and the client’s scheme, with vision examination records.
- CVs are matched to the actual equipment and codes on the scope, not just the certificate title.
- Proposed personnel are presented to the client for approval before mobilisation.
Engagement models
Short call-outs for a single inspection, project and turnaround crews, and longer resident assignments. Personnel can work under the client’s procedures and supervision, or as part of an Atlantis-managed inspection scope with Level III oversight and Atlantis reporting.
Staffing, not training
This service supplies personnel who already hold the required certifications. Atlantis does not provide training or examination for API, CSWIP, AWS, AMPP or BGAS schemes; candidates seeking those certifications should go to the certifying body.

What does TSS mean in inspection?
Technical staffing services: the supply of certified inspection and NDT personnel, such as API inspectors, CSWIP welding inspectors and coating inspectors, to work on a client’s project, turnaround or plant.
What is a BGAS inspector?
A painting inspector certified under the BGAS-CSWIP scheme, originally set up for the British gas industry and now used widely on coating and painting work.
Are NACE coating inspectors still certified?
NACE International merged into AMPP. Existing NACE coating inspector certifications continue under AMPP, and the programme is now run as AMPP’s coating inspector programme.
