Radiographic Latitude
Latitude is the range of part thicknesses that can be imaged on a single radiograph within the acceptable density range, balanced against contrast — high contrast films have narrow latitude and vice versa.
Definition
Latitude allows a single shot to capture thin and thick areas. High kV and lower-contrast films increase latitude; low kV and high-contrast films reduce it.
